Custom ProductsOur Terms and Guidelines There are many companies in the model railroading industry that produce etched metal products but if you want to get the highest quality products featuring cutting edge design, BLMA Models can satisfy your needs. Our Goals In our attempts to create a line of extremely accurate, etched metal products we have developed a process that allows us to fluidly design, create, and manufacture the highest quality products within a short time frame and at a lower cost, allowing us to pass the savings on to our customers. While we concentrate most of our energy on the etched metal product line, occasionally BLMA Models is willing to accept orders for custom-made parts. We only do this on a case-to-case basis so if you are a manufacturer or individual looking to run a specific job, (with or without CAD artwork developed), please contact us. Artwork Generation Artwork(s) can contain as many or as few unique parts as desired. Artwork cost is quoted on a case-by-case basis and cost will reflect the amount of time associated with the job. Specific dimensions are difficult to get, but we will make every effort to get your design as close to those dimensions as possible. In order to accomplish this, we expect you to supply us with high quality photos and specific dimensions of the part(s) in question. Etching has its limitations, so we will consult customers for their guidance on any concerns they might have. Before the part drawings are sent to the etcher, copies will be sent to you in .jpg or a format specified by you for final approval. If you have a problem viewing .jpg format files, an alternative method of showing you the artwork can be found. Once the artwork is completed and agreed upon, finished etchings should be in hand in no more than 3 weeks. Samples may not be required, but will be supplied upon request. Pricing By keeping our production costs to a minimum, our artwork and sheet pricing are a preferable choice to other companies. All artwork generation costs must be paid in full before the start of any project. Before any metal is etched, 50% of the etching costs are to be paid, with the remaining value paid upon arrival of the etchings to our office. Once a successful business relationship has been established, these guidelines can be altered.
